"We were walking through a locker room at the University of Texas when White House Trip Director Marvin Nicholson stopped to weigh himself on a scale. Unbeknownst to him, the President was stepping on the back of the scale, as Marvin continued to slide the scale lever. Everyone but Marvin was in on the joke." (Official White House Photo by Pete Souza)
Ever since I changed my format and switched to Flickr for my galleries I have been very pleased. I love hosting my pictures on Flickr, and I really like the groups and the social interaction from other photographers. I enjoy seeing all the other images others are posting, so once a week I will post a picture from another photostream that is one of my favorites and talk a bit about it. I’ll start with the above photo from the White House photographers.
I have the White House as a contact because they interviewed the head photographer Pete Souza on YouTube one day and I was really impressed with him. It is hard taking pictures of the same subjects day in and day out, and they really use their skill to make each pic stand out. Pete says he uses primarily 3 Primes, and he gets some great images with them. So often you think of the President and his staff as stuffy, and you do not really see the camaraderie they have. This picture really shows how the president is just a guy, despite all the pressures he has. I love so many of these White House photos, I just wish they showed the shooting data so I could see what lenses, the ISO, etc. that they use.
