Red Square, Alexander Pavlov

Red Square
Red Square (Russian: Krásnaya plóshchad’) is a city square in Moscow. The square separates the Kremlin, the former royal citadel and currently the official residence of the President of Russia, from a historic merchant quarter known as Kitai-gorod. As major streets of Moscow radiate from here in all directions, being promoted to major highways outside the city, Red Square is often considered the central square of Moscow and all of Russia.
The different shades of blue in this picture work so well with the other colors and makes the building on the right look truly imperial. The hazy sky in the backdrop is also a great color. This was taken at a very high ISO (1600) and the sharpness and colors he got out of that ISO is amazing. Just look at the green on the tower roof! This shot makes me think of one of my favorite movies, The Last Emperor.
